Assistant Depot Manager – Erith Depot

Title:                             Assistant Depot Manager  (Erith Depot)

Salary:                          Starting Salary £24,000 plus annual loyalty bonus

Hours:                          42.5 Hours per week + Overtime opportunities

Between 06.00 – 17.00 (including 30 minutes for lunch break)

Days:                            Monday – Friday

Working Location:      Various, but starting & finishing at Toilets+ Ltd Erith Depot

Purpose of post:

Toilets+ Ltd is the largest independent portable toilet company in the Southeast of England, operating across multiple geographical depots. We have thousands of toilets on short & long-term hire, which are serviced and restocked on a weekly basis, these are placed on a route according to location and routes are allocated daily with the delivery of new toilets and collection of end of hires.

Our 3.5 tonne fleet of Mercedes, Transits and Renault Masters are all equipped with suction tanks and hose for effluent removal and a water tank for the refilling of tanks and washing down. The role is to assist the Depot Manager with the effective & efficient Operation of the Depot.

To be successful in this role you will need good energy, be a good communicator and have great interpersonal skills.

Specific Duties: The role will include the following areas:

  • Stand in as Depot Manager during their Annual Leave periods
  • Oversee the morning routines, ensuring Service Operatives are completing the required Vehicle Checks & deal with any route queries if the Depot Manager isn’t around
  • Oversee all offsite toilet repairs which are too lengthy to be completed by Service Operatives on site ensuring these are completed in a timely manner
  • Ensure toilet stock is washed, prepped and ready to be used in line with the agreed company guidelines, including Hot Water and Mains units
  • Prepare all relevant chemicals appropriately for Service Operatives at the beginning / end of each day in line with company guidelines
  • In conjunction with the Depot Manager be responsible for the organisation & tidiness of the yard
  • Oversee & monitor the loading of flat beds, ensuring units are strapped correctly
  • Complete or Oversee the training of all new drivers, including the completion of all relevant paperwork in line with company guidelines
  • As and when required, deliver, collect and complete the weekly servicing and restocking of our portable toilet units out on short and long-term hire, completing all relevant contract paperwork
  • Complete minor repairs to units as and when required on site or in the depot
  • Undertake daily maintenance checks specific to your allocated vehicle

 Assist the Depot Manager in the following Areas:

  • Donkey Engine Servicing
  • Vac Pump Servicing
  • Compressor Servicing
  • Weekly and Monthly Van Checks
  • Other simple vehicle maintenance task
  • Forklift Duties (Once Qualified)

Knowledge, Experience & Skills

  • Full Driving Licence held for a minimum of 3 years
  • Previous driving experience
  • Ideally live within 15 miles of the Depot
  • Good geographical knowledge of the area
  • Good IT Skills (Word, Excel & Outlook)
